Dead man's kin questions fatal Las Vegas FBI shooting
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A relative says family members have questions about the death of an armed robbery fugitive who was shot and killed by the FBI last week outside a neighborhood casino in Las Vegas.
Crystal Strait of Sacramento said Monday that 35-year-old Joshua Burchell had prior drug-related felony criminal convictions in California.
But Strait says family members in Glendora, Calif., haven't been able to learn details of Burchell's death.
Authorities in Las Vegas say Burchell died at a hospital after being shot multiple times Thursday.
FBI Agent Patrick Turner says Burchell wielded a handgun in a confrontation with a team of FBI agents and police trying to arrest him outside Arizona Charlie's off Boulder Highway.
Turner released no additional details Monday. He says agents from Washington, D.C., are in Las Vegas investigating.
