Annual Hot August Nights starts today in Reno
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The annual Hot August Nights -- the hottest car show around -- starts today in Reno.
The annual event began in 1986 in an effort to fill a void in tourism during the month of August in Reno.
The event features show-n-shines, car judging, car auctions and cruises, free entertainment, and a variety of vendors through Sunday.
Several hundred enthusiasts kicked off the event early with the South Lake Tahoe Experience in the Lake Tahoe area over the weekend.
There are almost 6,000 cars registered for this year's event in Reno.
