Dedication ceremony held at new VA Medical Center
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A dedication ceremony was held Monday to celebrate the completion of a $600 million V.A. Medical Facility in North Las Vegas.
U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki was the keynote speaker. Nevada Senator Harry Reid, Senator Dean Heller, and Congresswoman Shelley Berkeley were also among the dignitaries that spoke. The medical center features three facilities: a full service V.A. hospital, an outpatient clinic, and a long term care facility. It's taken 6 years to complete. The new complex also provides specialty care, surgery, mental health, rehabilitation, geriatrics and extended care, as well as administrative and support functions.
The hospital will see its first patients on August 14.
