Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Soccer fans in the Valley are getting a first-hand glimpse of some of the top players in the world.

Spanish League Champion Real Madrid is taking on Mexico's Santos Laguna at Sam Boyd Stadium Sunday evening at 8 p.m.

Last week, Real Madrid played MLS Champion the LA Galaxy. That was an easy win for the La Liga Champions who scored easily in the first ten minutes.

The Spanish team closed it out 5-to-1 by the end of the night.

This is the second stop on Real Madrid's tour through the United States. After this, they will head east to play games in New York and Philadelphia.

Sunday's game will be of importance to one player in particular.

Former Las Vegas high school soccer player Herculez Gomez was honored Saturday on Fremont Street.

Gomez, who plays for Mexico's Santos Laguna, was the first soccer player from the Silver State to play in the World Cup back in 2010.
