CCSD graduates earn record amount of scholarships
Clark County, NV (KTNV) -- The Clark County School District's graduating class of 2012 earned nearly a quarter of a billion dollars in scholarship money; a new record for the district.
Friday, Superintendent Dwight Jones presented several students with their checks from the district.
Kenzi Smith not only received $500 from the district, but Jones also gave her $20 in cash to cover the gas it took to come pick up her check.
Two of the top earners this year were CCSD Harvard-bound graduates, Isa Khoury who earned $1.5 million and Taikye Wright-Brown who collected over $60,000.
