Mi Familia Vota holds voter drive for Latinos in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Latinos are a growing segment of the electorate and political experts say they will play a huge role in deciding the next president.
That is why several Latino organizations are traveling around the country holding voter registration drives.
The Latino population is among the fastest growing in Nevada but they haven't always taken advantage of that at the polls.
Several national Latino organizations are coming together to help with this effort. They started last week in California and will be criss-crossing the country from now until November.
The issues that they say are particularly important are immigration reform, healthcare, and education initiatives like the dream act.
The organization Mi Familia Vota says it has already registered 9,000 new Latino voters in Nevada.
