8 households displaced after Sparks apartment fire
SPARKS, Nev. (AP) -- Two people have minor injuries and eight households have been displaced after a fire broke out on the balcony of a Sparks apartment complex.
Sparks Fire Department spokesman Bob King says the fire started about 4 p.m. Tuesday on Sparks Boulevard and exploded when it reached a propane tank.
King says nobody was home when the fire started.
Officials say one person was taken to the hospital with asthma-related issues, while one man cut his hand while breaking into a fire extinguisher.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
