Officials probe Las Vegas police in-custody death
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities in Las Vegas are continuing to investigate the in-custody death of a 37-year-old U.S. Army veteran who died at a hospital two days after struggling with police during his arrest.
Clark County coroner's officials said Tuesday that a cause of death for Glenn Young Ybanez is pending.
Officer Jose Hernandez says Las Vegas police are investigating how Ybanez became unconscious during his arrest July 2.
Police say Ybanez had been sought on an out-of-state criminal warrant when he ran from police during a vehicle stop a few blocks west of the Las Vegas Strip.
Family members tell the Pacific Daily News on the Pacific Island of Guam that Ybanez was a former Army sergeant who served in Iraq before moving to Las Vegas in 2008.
