Multiple-vehicle accident caused headache for commuters on U.S. 95
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- An early-morning accident involving multiple vehicles on U.S. 95 near Eastern Avenue caused a big headache for commuters.
U.S. 95 is now open to traffic.
According to Trooper Jeremie Elliott of the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened between 2 and 3 a.m. Wednesday morning. The accident involved at least three semi-trailer trucks and several passenger vehicles.
Three people were sent to an area hospital. One of those is said to be in serious condition according to initial reports.
There were multiple minor injuries.
In addition, there was another crash involving a semi-trailer truck in approximately the same area. A small fuel leak resulted because of that crash.
The southbound lanes of U.S. 95 beween Las Vegas Boulevard and Eastern Avenue were expected to be closed through mid-morning because of the crash involving multiple vehicles, but have since reopened.
Wet roads are currently being blamed for the accidents.
