Water main break leaves residents without water for hours
North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Crews were called to the scene of a water main break in North Las Vegas on Tuesday afternoon.
Water could be seen pouring from cracks in the pavement, near North Las Vegas Boulevard and Carey.
The ordeal began at about 2:30 p.m. when authorities say a water main underneath Ellis Street broke for unknown reasons.
Utility workers say it could take up to 12 hours to repair. As they work to fix it, more than 40 homes in the area are left without any running water. Frustrated residents have no tap water to drink, or cook with. They're also unable to take a shower, and flush their toilets.
City crews handed-out bottled water to residents, to help ease the wait.
