Victim of Las Vegas hepatitis C outbreak dies
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- One of the victims of a 2007 hepatitis C outbreak in Las Vegas has died, according to an attorney for his family.
77-year-old Rodolfo Meana died on April 27 in the Philippines of apparent complications from hepatitis C.
The outbreak began in Las Vegas in 2007 and led to criminal charges against Dr. Dipak Desai.
Meana was one of several patients at Desai's Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada who became infected with the virus.
