Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A fire at a Las Vegas Strip hotel exposed several guests to smoke inhalation on Tuesday morning.

The fire began just before 9 a.m. at Treasure Island after an air conditioning unit on the roof malfunctioned.

Smoke then spread through the hotel's air conditioning system from the 36th floor to the 24th floor, a spokesperson for the Clark County Fire Department said.

Guest were quickly evacuated and smoke could be seen billowing from the roof from miles accross the Las Vegas area.

14 people were treated for minor injuries related to smoke exposure. 

A total of 41 units from the Clark County Fire Dept. and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue assisted in the effort. 

Damage was estimated at $20,000.
