Hundreds of cell phones handed out for free
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The "Free Phone Project" handed out hundreds of cell phones to people who qualified.
Volunteers helped hand out the new devices at the MGM Resort's International Culinary Academy on Saturday.
The program, spearheaded by President Obama, gives people the gift of communication.
They gave away free phones, and monthly minutes, to low-income individuals including veterans and senior citizens.
People who received the phones got 250 minutes and texts every month.
