North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A married couple's heated argument may be the reason behind the Valley's most recent homicide.

Officers are looking to question the victim's husband, 47-year old Alberto Gutierrez, after North Las Vegas police responded to Blue Rose Street to reports that Gutierrez’s wife had been stabbed.

Police say, at the time, there were six other people inside the home, three adults and three children.

At least one of those witnesses told police they heard an argument shortly before a 44-year old woman was stabbed multiple times.

Officers say the woman was rushed to UMC where she was pronounced dead; they say the man took off on foot.

Neighbors who were spending time with the family the night before say they never saw nor heard any signs of violence coming from the home.

“Every time I'd come over they were so easy going, so laid back, they were such nice people,” said neighbor Paul Thomas.  “It's horrible, she was a great person. I never would have guessed it. They seemed happy together.”

This homicide marks the sixth in North Las Vegas this year.
