Southwest Gas requesting another rate hike
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- People are upset about a requested rate hike by Southwest Gas and are speaking out.
A handful showed up to voice their concerns at a meeting of the Public Utilities Commission.
The increase would apply to all Southwest Gas customers in Nevada. However, it would not be the same for everyone.
The request is only one part of the rate proposal. The other is a gas infrastructure replacement mechanism.
If approved, the average bill in Southern Nevada would go up by about $3.70 per month.
In Northern Nevada, it would increase by a little more than one dollar.
