2 arrested in Henderson marijuana grow house bust
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Action News is learning more information on the two people arrested Thursday night after police busted a marijuana grow house in Henderson.
Narcotics officers have booked 28-year-old Candice Blackwell and 29-year-old Ezekiel Parraz into jail.
Parraz is a former assistant coach for the College of Southern Nevada. The school says his part-time contract ended in May.
After getting tips from neighbors who smelled marijuana, SWAT obtained a search warrant and discovered the grow house on Thursday evening.
Inside the rented home, they found more than 100 plants and an elaborate growing operation in three rooms and a garage. The street value of the drugs was estimated at $300,000.
Police say the home, like many other grow houses found across the Valley, devalues the property and the community. Police believe the plants had been growing for 8 to 10 months.
Both suspects face charges of possession of controlled substance and possession with intent to sell.
