Police: Massive marijuana farm discovered by hiker
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police in Las Vegas are crediting a hiker with a good eye for leading them to a massive marijuana farm on Wednesday.
The farm was discovered in Wallace Canyon off State Route 160, near the Nye County line. Police say a hiker came across it and notified authorities.
Police say the plants were found within four separate plots, weighing in at 11,000 pounds with an estimated street value of $16.5 million.
Authorities are calling it one of the largest outdoor marijuana grow operations found to date within Clark County.
