Two people expected to be okay after rollover on Rancho
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Two people were taken to the hospital, but are expected to be okay, following a serious rollover crash.
It happened Wednesday morning on Rancho Drive, near Palomino Lane.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department told Action News two people in the vehicle were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident started as a traffic stop. The driver was being pulled over by a motorcycle cop but then took off, gaining speed. He apparently reached speeds of up to 70 miles per hour.
The driver then hit a ditch, went airborne and struck a light pole. The vehicle then flew into a Smith's parking lot.
Police believe alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
Rancho was closed for several hours while crews investigated the crash.
