Motel retrofitted to provide housing for military veterans
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A retrofitted motel in downtown Las Vegas will now serve as transitional housing for those who have served in the military.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday morning introducing a unique and innovative approach to housing our service men and woman.
Veterans Village is now officially open and accepting new residents.
The location used to be an older Econo-Lodge, changed into transitional housing.
There are already ten residents living in the facility.
Organizers hope the housing option provides an easier transition from military to civilian life.
