Nye County joins list using online voter sign-ups
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Nye County has become the 10th Nevada county where residents can register online to vote.
Secretary of State Ross Miller says records for people in places including Pahrump, Tonopah, Beatty and Indian Springs can now be updated at www.RegisterToVoteNV.gov , along with the secretary of state website.
The program is available to people 18 and older who have a Nevada driver's license or Department of Motor Vehicles-issued ID card.
It links people's DMV signature to their voter registration record for comparison at polling places.
Clark, Churchill, Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Pershing and Washoe counties also use the online system.
It's not yet available in Carson City and Douglas, Esmeralda, Lincoln, Mineral, Storey and White Pine counties.
Oct. 7 is the deadline to register online to vote Nov. 6.
