One person was killed in a crash on Fort Apache between Sahara and Charleston on Monday afternoon.
Police said the crash involved multiple vehicles.
Authorities shut down the area of Fort Apache as they launched an investigation into what caused the crash.
This crash marks the 69th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash. The victim's identity has not been released.
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- One person was killed in a crash involving multiple cars on the west side of the Valley on Monday afternoon.
The crash happened on Fort Apache at Red Hills, between Sahara and Charleston at about 2 p.m.
One person was ejected from one of the vehicles and pronounced dead soon after.
Police shut down the surrounding roadways to investigate.
Despite heavy thunderstorms in the surrounding areas, police said it was not raining at the time of the crash, and weather was not a factor.
The identity of the victim has not been released, but we do know he was 78-years-old and from Las Vegas.
