Police fatally shoot homicide suspect in Henderson

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police shot and killed a homicide suspect this morning near East Warm Springs Road and Boulder Highway.

The 43-year-old man was under surveillance by the valley's Criminal Apprehension Team. He was a suspect in the death of Scott Harrison, whose body was found July 4 in the desert near Indian Springs.

According to initial reports, the suspect was spotted this morning. Officers with CAT called Henderson Police Department and asked for their assistance in stopping the suspect.

The suspect drove over a median on Boulder Highway in an attempt to escape, disabling his car. He then attempted to carjack another vehicle. The driver was able to get away.

Police repeatedly ordered the man to surrender. He then made a move with his hand towards his waistband. Two officers shot the suspect.

The shooting happened at about 9 a.m.
