LAS VEGAS (AP) -- The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, says radio announcer Bob Blum has died. He was 91.

UNLV officials said Blum died Sunday. The university says Blum was one of the oldest active play-by-play announcers in the country.

Blum was most recently the announcer for the Lady Rebels and had finished a 27th season in that capacity. He previously worked as the UNLV announcer for men's basketball, football, baseball.

He marked his 1,000th career at UNLV game on Feb. 4, 2006. The university says that's the most games by an announcer in UNLV history.

Blum also announced games for San Francisco Giants, the Oakland Raiders, and the San Diego Chargers during a career that spanned more than 60 years.

He was inducted into the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
