Judge approves demolition of Harmon tower
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A judge has approved the demolition of Harmon tower on the Las Vegas Strip after months of legal battles.
The ruling came Thursday after a lenghty dispute between MGM Resorts International and the contracted builder.
A spokesperson for MGM said lawyers are still examining the ruling.
"While MGM Resorts prevailed on this issue, we now must spend $30 million to demolish a defect-riddled building that we spent $275 million to construct," MGM released in a statement. "When Clark County demanded that CityCenter abate the potential hazard created by faulty construction at the Harmon, we determined that demolition is the surest, safest and fastest way to do so."
