2012 NASCAR Weekend brought big bucks to Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) --The 2012 NASCAR Weekend in Las Vegas has set an all-time record for economic impact in the history of the event.
This year's event brought in move than $240 million to the Las Vegas economy -- a staggering 26.3 percent increase over last year's event.
It is the fourth year in a row that there has been an increase.
That is according to new figures just released by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
It was a 26 percent increase over last year's event.
The LVCVA found that 71 percent of the fans that attended the race came from out of town and 13 percent came from another country.
The 2012 NASCAR Weekend included the Kobalt Tools 400 NASCAR Spring Cup series, the Sam's Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race, Stratosphere Pole Day and two nights of dirt-track racing.
