Storm damage evident in one west Las Vegas neighborhood
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Residents in one west Las Vegas neighborhood say this weekend's storm was the strongest they've ever experienced.
Damage was evident on a street near Lake Mead and Rampart on Monday, where powerful streams of waters uprooted plants and broke a fence, forcing crews to rope off a portion of the sidewalk.
Across the street, a massive tree was uprooted as water flowed through the street and into an area just off the sidewalk.
Residents said the flooding was so heavy, storm drains were overflowing and water in the street came up to their knees.
Neighbors said the hail was even more intense to watch than the rain. Large pellets pummeled houses as the storm swept through.
A crew with a wood chipper worked to cut branches off the fallen tree and clean up the area on Monday afternoon.
