Apartment fire displaces 9 people
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) – The Clark County Fire Department responded to a fire at the Antigua Bay Apartments near Charleston Boulevard and Nellis Boulevard on the valley’s east side Sunday night. The fire affected three units and displaced three families.
Crews responded to the fire at 4:50 p.m. When they arrived on scene, heavy smoke was coming from a second story apartment unit.
One second-story unit was damaged by fire. The next door apartment has smoke damage, while the unit directly below the fire has water damage.
The property management company of Antigua Bay is attempting to move the three displaced families to units at its sister properties.
Thirty-four fire department personnel responded and were able to extinguish the fire quickly.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. There were no injuries and damage is estimated at $150,000. The American Red Cross is assisting those affected.
