LVMPD names officer who shot, killed escaped chimpanzee
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has named the officer who shot and killed one of the escaped chimpanzees Thursday.
Sergeant Andrew Legrow was on the scene when the two chimps escaped from their cage; he was the officer who was involved in the shooting.
Sergeant Legrow, 49, has been with Metro for 27 years.
He is a patrol sergeant currently assigned to the Northwest Area Command.
