Man sentenced to death in killing of man, fetus
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to death after authorities say he used a chain saw to cut a hole in the door of his estranged wife's Las Vegas apartment, then shot through it.
William Keck was convicted last week of charges including first-degree murder, attempted murder, and killing of an unborn child in connection with the shooting on Nov. 3, 2008. He was sentenced Thursday.
Keck's estranged wife, Angel Reyes, was shot eight times but survived the early morning attack in Las Vegas. Her unborn child was hit and killed.
Reyes' 26-year-old boyfriend Jonathan Lestelle also died.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Keck's two-week trial included testimony from Lestelle's family and from Reyes, who said Keck previously threatened to shoot her in the stomach and kill her baby.
