Man hurt in bloody home attack on family holding press conference
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A Las Vegas man who was nearly bludgeoned to death in a hammer attack that left his wife and their daughter dead in their home is due to meet the media at his newly renovated boxing gym.
Arturo Martinez and his sons Cristofer and Alejandro are due to talk about their recovery in an event Thursday at the Real KO Boxing Gym in North Las Vegas.
Friends and supporters spent the last couple of weeks rebuilding the gym. Family spokesman Dale Davidson says Arturo Martinez will compare his therapy after suffering severe head wounds to training for boxing.
A 22-year-old man has pleaded not guilty and awaits a death penalty trial in the sexual assault and killing of Ignacia "Yadira" Martinez and 10-year-old Karla Martinez early April 15.
