Meeting being held in North Las Vegas to discuss budget
North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- North Las Vegas Mayor Shari Buck is holding a community meeting Wednesday to talk with locals about the city's budget cuts.
To prepare, a number of firefighters spent the day Tuesday going door-to-door passing out flyers warning locals their neighborhood fire station has been shut down.
The firefighters union is responsible for the flyers, saying they feel public safety is no longer a priority for North Las Vegas.
City Manager Tim Hacker admits certain fire stations are temporarily closed, but says those closures are reviewed on a day-to-day basis, based on sick calls.
Wednesday's meeting starts at 6 p.m. at Aliante Station in the Tucson Room.
