Toddler found in pool, condition unknown

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) – The Southern Nevada Child Drowning Prevention Coalition reports to Action News that a 2-year-old girl was found in a backyard pool at a home near Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard. The condition of the child is unknown at this time.

The discovery was made Tuesday afternoon after the family woke up. They found a sliding glass door leading to the backyard slightly open. Upon further investigation, the family found the toddler in the swimming pool. They brought the child out and began CPR. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrived on scene and an officer took over CPR before Las Vegas Fire and Rescue firefighters and paramedics arrived.

The child was given advanced life support by paramedics and was transported to University Medical Center Pediatrics Unit.

Responders report that there was no secondary barrier around the pool.
