2 arrested after celebratory gunfire leads to shooting death
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police have arrested two men after they say celebratory gunfire led to an altercation resulting in one man's death last week.
Darrel Fitzgerald, 28, and Terrence Renda McClodden, 29, both face charges after an incident Thursday night left 24-year-old Exavian Jones dead and a woman injured.
Detectives say Jones discharged a gun into their air in celebratory gunfire. That led to a fight between Jones and the two suspects. Police say McClodden then fired numerous rounds from a handgun, shooting Jones and a woman.
Jones suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was rushed to University Medical Center, where he later died.
The female victim was not seriously injured.
Police say Fitzgerald and McClodden were both arrested and booked at the Clark County Detention Center. Both have extensive arrest records and now face murder charges.
