Henderson apartment fire sends woman to hospital
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- The Henderson Fire Department was called to an apartment fire early Sunday morning.
It happened just before 7:30 a.m. on Westminster Street, near Burkholder Boulevard and Lake Mead Parkway.
When crews arrived, the kitchen in a first floor apartment was on fire. It was under control within five minutes.
The occupants were home at the time but were able to get out prior to the arrival of firefighters. However, one woman was taken to UMC for smoke inhalation. She was reportedly doing well when she arrived at the hospital.
Three adults and one child were displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
Investigators determined the cause to be an unattended pot on the stove.
Damage is estimated at $15,000.
