Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Bail has been set at half a million dollars for the man accused of driving under the influence and killing a pedestrian on Boulder Highway on Tuesday night.

44-year-old David Nieto of Las Vegas appeared in court Friday morning. His preliminary hearing has been set for July 15, 2012.

Harry Martini was crossing Boulder Highway in front of the Eastside Cannery when he was struck. He was not in a marked crosswalk at the time.

Nieto is also accused of leaving the scene after the incident. Las Vegas police were able to track him down shortly after.

There has been at least three fatal accidents in that area near the Eastside Cannery in the last year.
