Las Vegas firework explosion caught on video
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- For the first time in 16 years, not a single building in Las Vegas was damaged by fireworks on the 4th of July. But that doesn’t mean there weren't a few close calls.
Action News spoke with one man who said his family was just feet away from disaster as a firework exploded right in front of them.
“It was crazy, you know. We were not expecting an explosion,” said Adam Bruni. “There were some screams, some cries, we were all in shock. Just in shock.”
Bruni said he purchased the fireworks legally and had no idea that legal fireworks packed that kind of a punch.
However, incidents like that were few and far between this Independence Day with only one minor injury to report.
Las Vegas Fire and Rescue credits additional public education on fireworks this year, as well as the rainy weather in helping to curb firework-related incidents.
