4 injured in shooting outside Siegel Suites
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Three women and one man were shot at about 4:34 a.m. this morning outside Siegel Suites near East Twain Avenue and Paradise Road.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting may be gang related. Witnesses on the scene said the shooting may have been in retaliation for an incident that happened earlier in the night on the Las Vegas Strip.
"There were a couple girls in the road, a man at the bus stop and another girl across the street," said one witness. "They all had gunshot wounds and a couple people across the street were screaming. We went and helped them."
All of the victims have been transported to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center. It is being reported that their injuries are non-life threatening.
"We just tried to calm them down," said another witness. "We told them to breathe, calm down and said the paramedics would be here any second."
Police say this gang activity gets more common when the weather starts to heat up.
"I wouldn't say we are seeing more incidents, I would say these are the kind of incidents we do see," said Lt. Dan Coe with Metro's Gang Crimes Bureau.
"It picks up especially during the summer. So you'll see gang enforcement more and more often. And our goal is to ultimately curb or end violent gang activity in the Las Vegas Valley," he said.
No suspects have been arrested. And no shooter description has been released. The only information given was that the shooter or shooters were in a dark-colored car and they were wearing dark-colored clothing.
