HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) -- The Nevada State Contactors Board is planning forums next week in Ely, Elko and Fallon to spread the word about the latest building repair scams being used to rip off seniors around the state.

The sessions aim to combine resources of the contractors board and state Aging and Disability Services Division with sheriff's offices and elected officials.

Contractors board chief Margi Grein says the Senior Awareness Program aims to provide tips and warning signs to help seniors protect themselves.

It'll also offer resources to report incidents of abuse.

The Ely session is at 1 p.m. Monday at the Prospector Hotel.

The Elko event is at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Terrace Senior Center.

The Fallon event is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Churchill County Senior Center.
