Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The United States has a few thousand more citizens tonight thanks to special ceremonies around the nation. One of those was held right here at Nellis Air Force Base.

Some of those new citizens that were welcomed by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and Nellis included four active-duty airmen from Nellis, four members of the U.S. Army and one spouse.

Airman First Class Victor Hugo Rodriguez, who is in the Air Force, says it meant even more to celebrate the achievement on July 4th.

"It's very exciting. It's more special because it is Independence Day. So, it just makes it that much better," said Rodriguez.
