Half million Lake Mead guests expected around 4th
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Rangers who say they're expecting half a million visitors at Lake Mead in the 10 days on and around the Fourth of July are urging visitors to keep the park clean.
Rangers are asking guests not to bring Styrofoam, glass containers or fireworks. They also say it's important to pick up trash.
Chief Ranger Mary Hinson says the park staff's top priority is preventing drownings. She recommends all swimmers wear a life jacket approved by the U.S. Coast Guard.
