Sandoval creates new veterans affairs council
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has signed an executive order creating a new interagency council to coordinate services for veterans.
The Interagency on Veterans Affairs will work to identify and prioritize the needs of Nevada veterans. Sandoval says the council will also increase coordination of state government services with federal and local governments, as well as nonprofit organizations, to better serve veterans.
Sandoval signed the executive order on Tuesday. Members of the council will be appointed by the governor.
Office of Veterans Services Director Caleb Cage will serve as chairman.
