County offers Vegas-area building penalty amnesty
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Clark County building officials are offering temporary amnesty to let homeowners to get up-to-date on permits even if they've already converted a garage, added a room, covered a patio or installed a new water heater.
The 90-day amnesty extends through Sept. 30.
It applies to homeowners in unincorporated parts of the Las Vegas area.
County officials will waive penalties on self-disclosed residential construction work done without permits -- as long as homeowners pay normal fees for permits, inspections and plan reviews.
Fees for residential-related construction usually range from $150 to $400, depending on the project.
The Building Department's permit application center is at 4701 W. Russell Road, near Decatur Boulevard.
