Man enters guilty plea in trick-or-treater's death
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Justin Caramancia entered a guilty plea Monday morning in the death of 12-year-old Faith Love on Halloween night of 2011.
Caramancia pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and is scheduled to be sentenced on November 5.
The accident happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Halloween night in a neighborhood near West Sahara Avenue and South Hualapai Way. Love was trick-or-treating with friends and family members.
Police say Caramanica's blood-alcohol percentage was just under the 0.08 percent blood-alcohol limit for driving in Nevada, but Caramanica also admitted to taking prescription drugs for an injury.
Love was not in a marked crosswalk at the time. After the incident, signs began appearing near the intersection warning people to slow down.
Love was a seventh-grade student at Rogich Middle School.
