Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Three auto-pedestrian accidents in the central valley Friday night are being blamed on jaywalkers.

Metro Police say two pedestrians were hit by a pickup truck while jaywalking outside of the Palms Hotel and Casino.

A 73 year-old Las Vegas man was hit jaywalking on Tropicana in front of the Orleans Hotel and Casino.

Just a few blocks away at Spring Mountain and Arville, Metro police found a man bleeding in the middle of the road and think he may be the victim of a hit-and-run driver.

Action News returned to the accident sites Saturday to find a jaywalking epidemic in the casino district just west of the Strip.

Frequent jaywalking in the area keeps drivers like Jackie Hong on edge.

"Sometimes I'm driving and there is a person darting out of nowhere and I'm like whoa," says Hong. "I put on the breaks and thank God my brakes are working but what if my breaks weren't working?"

Friday night's trio of auto pedestrian accidents breaks a relatively quiet streak. Before Friday, the last serious auto-ped was nearly three weeks before on June 11.
