Extra DUI patrols planned for 4th of July
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Law enforcement is teaming up this holiday to keep drivers safe by adding more officers to the road.
Because the 4th of July falls on a Wednesday this year, officers will be out in force all weekend, looking for impaired drivers and others driving recklessly.
Police say the 4th is one of the worst holidays to be on the road.
"Unfortunately, the 4th of July is one of the most fatal holidays of the year," Sgt. Todd Raybuck with Metro said.
During the first five months of 2012, Metro made 4700 DUI arrests.
