Longtime Las Vegas bar being forced out of business
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Many residents and businesses have complained lately about a new water surcharge that has resulted in their monthly bills skyrocketing.
Now, a saloon and dance hall owner says he can't stay open any longer.
A mixture of price hikes, property tax increases and estate taxes have put Larry's Hideaway on Thom Boulevard in the hole.
The trustee of the business says he now owes more than $250,000 and when the water surcharge went into effect, it added $5,000 more.
It was the last straw for a business that has been operating for twenty years.
Larry's Hideaway will close its doors on Friday and 15 employees will lose their jobs.
