UPDATE: Scene cleared at standoff on Furnace Gulch
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was on the scene of a standoff.
It started Saturday morning on Furnace Gulch Avenue, near Fort Apache and Blue Diamond Roads.
Police said the man that began the standoff was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The man allegedly fired one round toward his wife inside the home, before she called police. By the time they arrived on the scene, another gunshot was heard.
SWAT found the man dead when they went inside the home.
A witness in the community told Action News, officers weren't allowing anyone to walk around the neighborhood during the standoff.
The witness also said police used flash bangs and weren't allowing people into the community until the situation was resolved.
Dozens of police officers and SWAT cleared the scene, several hours after the incident started.
