Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Small businesses in Las Vegas are getting a big opportunity to grow and make new contacts. One such chance came Wednesday at a business expo put on by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.
What does a dancing robot, a showgirl, and a ribbon cutting have in common? It's all part of this year's business expo hosted by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.
The focus of the expo was to help small businesses come out winning.
iTernal Networks started up three years ago. They focus on IT support for small businesses in Las Vegas.
"This is great. I've never done anything like this with my business, and the amount of contacts I'm making and the new potential needs as well as business partners in other companies that have services that I need, I don't think I could find this anywhere else," says Michael Kanet, owner of iTernal Networks.
More than 150 exhibits showcased everything from entertainment to energy drinks and so much more. All of this is with the hopes of attracting the attention of more than 2000 people out here.
"I think it represents the future, and we need to do what we can do to support these young businesses and to make sure we have a community where they can be successful," says Cara Roberts.
Daniel Caldera is the youngest entrepenuer at the expo and was hoping to increase the sales of his organic and healthier coffee.
"I just wanted to open up my own business and this was a great opportunity, easy to do, and I drink coffee a lot so I believe in the product and I'm really happy with my selection," says the teen.
Daniel joins hundreds of other small businesses trying to grow from the ashes of this recession.
"We're in growth mode right now. We just hired another employee and things are looking good," says Kanet.
The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce has held business expos for more than 20 years, but say this year was special since it focused on building the pop-up business community.
