Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The company that was trying to get an application approved for what was known as the Sloan Hills gravel pit has backed off.
Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak made the announcement on June 19.
Cemex is no longer pursing the project near Henderson.
According to Sisolak, thousands of Clark County residents spoke up in opposition of the gravel pit.
