Henderson construction fire called suspicious

Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Fire investigators for the City of Henderson Fire Department say that fire Wednesday morning at an apartment complex that is under construction is suspicious.

The fire department responded at approximately 4:21 a.m. Wednesday morning to the complex near the intersection of North Gibson Road and Wigwam Parkway.

A passer-by saw the fire and called 911.

Upon arrival, the fire department discovered that two buildings were fully involved. Each two-story building contained 16 apartments.

The fire department mounted an aggressive attack on the fire and was soon able to bring it under control. The fire did not spread to surrounding buildings.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters during the incident. NV Energy and a city building inspector were called in to assist with securing the property.

Total loss is estimated at $1 million by the construction management team.
